The United Workers Union is seeking a highly motivated Lead Organiser in QLD & SA.
It’s time to change aged care – want to be part of it?
2021 will be a huge year for the aged care industry and therefore for the Aged Care workers organising for change.
With the focus on aged care from the Royal Commission (which brings down its final report in February) and the failures we have seen through the COVID pandemic we have a once in a generation opportunity to make change.
UWU has invested heavily in our Aged Care organising so we have the resources for organising and building worker power in workplaces, online and within CALD communities, as well as leveraging political power, residents, their families and community support and ensuring media attention for our issues.
We plan to campaign for a mandated staffing model to ensure quality care and achievable workload, decent wages and a job you can count on and hold the government accountable as the funder and regulator of aged care.
Are you a lead organiser looking to challenge and extend yourself in 2021?
We are looking for two experienced organising leads who are up for a big challenge.
This role will involve leading the state organising work of the national aged care campaign as well as a large team of organisers.
The plan for 2021 involves organising a key universe of Aged Care workers to find and develop leaders, build power through membership and take action to win (including through national industrial action)
If you are keen to lead the campaign of 2021, then this is your chance
