Billions of dollars are being stolen from workers across the country in the form of wage theft. Underpayments of wages, sham contracting, exploitation in labour hire, migrant exploitation, unpaid overtime are rife and it needs to stop. If workers are caught stealing from their employers they could be liable for up to ten years gaol, yet if bosses steal from workers all they have to do is pay it back – and often they don’t even do that.

Employers need to face the same consequences for stealing from their employees, as their employers face for stealing from their employers. Wage theft is theft! We ask the State Government to criminalise wage theft in the state of Queensland.
