The theme of this year’s NAIDOC Week is Heal Country! 

The QCU is again acknowledging and supporting NAIDOC Week and this year’s theme calls for all of us to continue to seek greater protections of First Nations’ lands, waters, sacred sites and cultural heritage from exploitation, desecration and destruction.

In recognition of the commencement of NAIDOC Week, the QCU is pleased to announce the opening of our annual QCU NAIDOC Awards.  There are two main awards:

  1. The Dr Robert (Uncle Bob) Anderson Award

This award goes to an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander activist who has made an outstanding contribution to the union movement over the previous 12 months.

2. QCU NAIDOC Union  Award

This award will be presented to a union as an acknowledgement of their contribution towards the progression and development of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Winners of the Awards are to be announced at an event on 8 July, 11:00am – 12:00noon, on Level 2 at the QCU, 5/16 Peel St, South Brisbane.
