IEU (Qld & NT Branch) – Communications Officer

The Independent Education Union – Queensland and Northern Territory Branch is seeking applications for the position of full-time Communications Officer.

The IEUA-QNT is a union representing 17,000 teachers and school support staff working in non-government education across Queensland and the Northern Territory.

The Communications Officer will be a talented digital communicator and designer who is a creative thinker with a high attention to detail and who can work to strict deadlines and manage multiple competing tasks.

The duties of this full-time, ongoing position include:

  • Producing regular digital content to assist and enhance our union’s organising, campaigning, recruitment and membership activities, including video content.
  • Maintaining and moderating our union’s social media channels including the development of a regular content schedule.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of our union’s website and online resources.
  • Producing union publications (hard copy and digital) including researching, writing and editing content, conducting interviews and design.

Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite desirable but not essential.

Training will be provided to the successful candidate as appropriate.

The position is based in Brisbane.

Graduates and recent graduates in communications, digital media, journalism or associated fields are encouraged to apply.

A salary package dependent on qualifications and experience will be determined.
