Australian Federated Union of Locomotive Employees
The AFULE is a Queensland-based craft union that represents employees in the train running grade. Its traditional membership is persons eligible to be employed in the train running industry -– Locomotive Drivers, Drivers’ Assistants, Firemen, Locomotive Cleaners and Guards – and workers engaged in and about the working or management of motive power used on a Railway. In recent times, this has expanded to include Tutor Drivers, Train Management Improvement Officers, Drivers-in-Charge, Driver Coordinators, Operations Coordinators, Driver Trainers and Technical Trainers.
Australian Institute of Marine and Power Engineers
AIMPE is the union representing the industrial and professional interests of marine and power engineers in Australia. Members of AIMPE work on tugboats, ferries, dredges, offshore oil and gas industry vessels, MODUs, cargo vessels and the power generation industry.
Australasian Meat Industry Employees' Union
The AMIEU (better known as the Meatworkers’ Union) covers anyone working in the meat industry: whether in an abattoir, poultry shed or in the retail sector.
Australian Manufacturing Workers Union
The Queensland and Northern Territory Branch of the AMWU is an active, strong branch covering many different occupations, trades and callings including fitters, boilermakers, lab technicians, mechanics, printers, graphic designers and many more.
Communication Workers Union

Finance Sector Union
The FSU was founded in July 1991 when the Australian Bank Employees’ Union (ABEU) and the Australian Insurance Employee’s Union (AIEU) voted to amalgamate and create the FSU. Independent Education Union - Queensland & Northern Territory Branch
The Independent Education Union – Queensland and Northern Territory Branch (IEU-QNT) is the only organisation making a difference for employees in the non-government education sector - representing 17,000 teachers, pre-service teachers, school support staff, principals, kindergarten teachers and assistants, as well as RTO and ELICOS trainers and employees.

MEAA is the union for people working in TV, radio, theatre & film, entertainment venues, recreation grounds, journalists, actors, dancers, sportspeople, cartoonists, photographers, orchestral and opera performers as well as people working in public relations, advertising, book publishing and website production.
Maritime Union of Australia (Qld)
The Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) Queensland Branch covers waterside workers, seafarers, port workers, professional divers, and office workers associated with Queensland and Australian ports. The MUA was formed in 1993 with merger of the Seamen’s Union of Australia and the Waterside Workers Federation of Australia.
National Tertiary Education Union
NTEU is the only union solely representing employees in Australian tertiary education. It has over 28,000 members in every Australian university and many other tertiary education providers. It represents academic, general/professional and research staff, ELICOS/TESOL teachers and staff of research institutes, student unions, university companies, and (in Victoria) TAFE general staff and staff in Adult & Community Education.
Plumbers Union
The Plumbers Union is the industrial Union representing licensed plumbers and related workers in the water, fire, sanitary and mechanical plumbing industries.
They represent the welfare of their members through a strong and dynamic network of delegates, exercise industry leadership through the development of strategic partnerships and diligently manage the Union’s resources to ensure its members have a competitive advantage over non-union members in the marketplace.
Professionals Australia
Professionals Australia, formerly the Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers Australia (APESMA), is an Australian employee association registered under state and federal industrial relations acts. Professionals Australia has approximately 25,000 members from the following professions: engineers, scientists, managers, architects, IT professionals, pharmacists, veterinarians, surveyors, translators and collieries staff in addition to student members.
Queensland Nurses and Midwives’ Union
The QNMU is the industrial and professional organisation for nurses and midwives working in public and private health and aged care in Queensland. It seeks to promote and defend the industrial, professional, social, political and democratic interests of almost 60,000 members.
Members include registered nurses, midwives, enrolled nurses, assistants in nursing, students, and anyone who undertakes nursing work.
Queensland Police Union
The Queensland Police Union of Employees represents the men and women of the Queensland Police Service.
Queensland Teachers' Union
Established in 1889, the QTU has chalked up over a century of achievement in helping teachers throughout Queensland, and is now the voice of more than 43,000 teachers in the Queensland Government’s primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, senior colleges, TAFE colleges and other educational facilities.
Rail, Tram and Bus Union
The RTBU amalgamated in Queensland in 1993. It covers employees of Queensland Rail, QR National, Brisbane City Council, GoldLinq, PNQ, Transfield, QRX and more.
